Surprisingly dry for a Merlot. chewy on the palette with an starts out with hints of rotted, tart fruit and transitions to pine nuts and resin - not at all typical of a Merlot.

Have to go get more of these - was pleasantly surprised by this. Definitely a lighter red, but for the price a great value. Went over well at party, and it was gone before I knew it.

Deep garnet color lightening on the edges. Decent legs. Nose of blackberries, earth and a little poop. Perhaps a little clove in there too. Decent mouthfeel. Dark fruit up front with good acidity. No real "WOW" factor. Mid pallete is a little weak and there really isn't a finish. Not a horrible wine but not very bold. Probably good for someone who really isn't into reds that much. Will see if it improves over the next several nights.

A bit sharp to the taste when first opened. It calmed down after a couple of hours.
