Solid on day 3 but not as good as the first bottle of four. Menthol, dark cherries, plum, dark chocolate and spices. A powerful wine and medium plus finish. Very enjoyable and for $80 a bottle not a bad deal.

Day 1: Big style wine with oak, plum, dark cherry, spice, dark chocolate, dust and tobacco. Super concentrated wine and really long finish. This is not a hot wine like too many from Napa at this price point. For sure a solid auction purchase. 94 points Day 2: Really more open for business and tastes like a much more expensive wine. Dark cherry, oak, plum, dark chocolate, tobacco, minerals, rose petals and earth. Concentrated wine and super long finish. A wonderful experience. 95 points Recommendation: Outstanding value if you can get via auction for under $100.

Notes follow 90 mins in the decanter. Red cherry, herbs, faint oak and vanilla on the nose. Comes across the palate dry which lengthens the finish. Fruit is interesting as it seems concentrated at first, but quickly dissipates and is short on depth. Gobs of sediment.
While this is our first of Bobs Mt Veeder Cabs, we won’t judge too harshly as its consistent w the vintage. In the future I’d pull the cork and allow 30-45 mins of bottle air rather than decant. Drink up.
