A terrific finger lakes Riesling and a great example of the best in US level/ and truthfully top tier anywhere- mine from a rare magnum bottle (a beautiful display) with a great fish chowder- crisp acidity of wine a perfect match!

Straw, pale gold; lemons, grapefruits, chalk, honeysuckle, apricots; dry, lemony, lime, grapefruit, minerally, light body, crisp acidity, good structure, long finish. Fresh citrus and chalkiness with yeasty brioche and grapefruit pith on the finish. World class! WOTY.

Previously tasted at the winery just over five months ago, this was a clear step up. Nose continues to show apple, pear and lemon, but this time the lemon wasn't as overpowering, more floral notes had started to creep in the the nose overall felt more aromatic. Medium bodied and when I had tasted this wine back in June, it felt decidedly lean, but today, showed a bit better concentration which worked well with the flavor profile. Still showing apple and pear upfront, adding peach through the middle and a very nice burst of spices and citrus notes towards the back. As this wine integrates, feels like the 'leanness" is opening up and the wine is showing more complexity and depth. I'll plan to try my first from bottle in Fall 2020.
