Very tight - seems to have have the requisite components to develop into a better wine. Lost of 2005s seem to be in the same category. I'lllwait a few years to try the next bottle.

Extracted, intense, tannic, punchy, hot. Don’t love this modern style. More currant than cherry. Obviously too youthful right now but don’t imagine this will clean up into something more elegant or rustic or soulful. Not seeing hallmarks of the Roche vineyard in this. Sticks to your teeth. Far different interpretation from my 2019 note. Don’t care for this.

Tenth Anniversary Magnum Celebration (Dig Wines and Piccino Restaurant, San Francisco): Magnum. Ruby. Remarkably thin feel and lack of richness for such a heralded bottle. Hugely disappointing and difficult to understand coming from this large scaled vintage. Another example of a Ponsot that was show stopping when it debuted but much less compelling later on.

Ripe and ready, it doesn't have the delineation I'd prefer.

Magnum. Some tomato, but good sweetness and ripeness. Good balance and substance underneath. 92+
