No notes taken. While this has a lot of substance, lots of well defined fruit at the core, a nice layer of minerality, a good structure with ripe, fine tannins, sufficient acidity to keep it fresh, is a bit too bold and on the nose for me. It‘s not overextracted like many wines a decade ago, so my guess is that this could develop into something beautiful, more balanced, complex in 20-30 years. Today it‘s a 91/92pts experience.
Decanting: Open and ready from the go, no extensive decanting needed.
Tasted at Max Bordeaux as part of one of their tasting flights. Overall impression was impressive but young.
Very intense nose with ripe black currant, blackberry, and plum. Green bell pepper, raw white button mushroom, and white pepper. Really nice oak character but needs time to integrate with powerful fruit. Dark flowers and crushed gravel.
Explosive on the palate, with powerful and persistent fresh, slightly tart dark fruits. Bramble and earth notes develop on the mid palate as mocha, old leather, and minerality round out the very long finish. Acid is medium + and taut, tannins are fine-grained but very intense

Needs an 8 hour decant at this point. Nice nose, complex flavors of chocolate and a dash of black pepper. Not fully accessible yet, but you can tell it was extremely well made. Holds up with steak and bleu cheese, parmesan, and many other foods.

Tasted many 2022 bordeaux in a short time. In this context the 2018 Smith Haut Lafite was a very welcomed tasting. Dark fruits and polished with good concentration.

Barnyard/wet nose, and dark fruits, with same notes on the palate. Medium finish, underwhelming for the chateau.

Bordeaux 2022 barrel samples and some additional vintages (Solliden in Stockhom): Bordeax 2022 primeur tasting and some other various vintages of the same chateau.
