  • 2017 Fairchild Wines: Blackcurrant, tobacco, iron ore, white flowers and licorice on the nose. Currently a little austere, it shows the most mineral driven notes in the lineup. Stone and earth are complemented but blue/red fruit with good levels of freshness. The tannins are big and pronounced, and it is a bit reticent to show its cards at the moment. In fitting with the vintage, it isn't showing the overall depth of flavor or previous vintages, and is a tad bit linear. Should age well.
