First tasting of the 2018s. I found this (unknown to me) producer for a reasonable price and was intrigued. Verdict is consistent with prior reviews: very nice but will need time for sure. Displays a pale yellow straw color out of the bottle with low viscosity. Nose is very nice - densely packed with lots of fruit, candied lemon, baking spices, and a hint of burnt match. Palate is great - nicer weight than I was expecting - but at this stage, the wine is just simply too fruity. Even though the acidity was just medium, I really think this needs to lay down for at least 5 yrs to integrate well. I know that young spatlese border on dessert wine but I don't think that's what this is meant be. A fully mature version of this will offer more complex, perhaps even savory, elements and almost definitely merit a higher score.

Drinking super well after being open for 24hrs. The acidity is ripe but brazing, very lively. Drink one now and save the rest.

Really good, especially on day 2. Great acidity for the vintage, well balanced RS, very enjoyable. Will be even better in a few years.

Excellent now but needs time. Sweetness, acidity and pleasure.
