Nose has a nice perfume of forest floor, faint wild berry, petrol, and graphite.
In the mouth, it is like drinking a basket of perfectly ripe red cherries just picked from the trees at first. Then some earth and spice mix into the velvety finish that does not taste thin, but full, bright, and clean with sour cherry lingering.
Overall, in a perfect drinking window with all the elements now having come together. It should hold like this for probably a couple years, not sure I would hold longer if I had another bottle.

"Nose definitely show some oak but also had some good dense fruit. I think more of the dark side but still had some red character. On the palate it was quite seamless but had bright acidity that maybe masked some of the tannins. Even then it was profound fruit and the finish showed more of the rocky tannin and minerality. I like this one a lot. I probably would’ve rated it a 90 if not a 91. I think it is drinking right now and there’s no reason to wait"
90-91, has acidity that is more like d'Asti rather than d'Alba. Really liked it!

A short decant. Lots of french oak and blackberries/cranberries on the nose. The palate is similar with oak, berries up front, medium + body and medium + acid, low tannin, great balance. My only criticism is the finish is a bit short but its barbera, this is great QPR and such an enjoyable drink. Drinking great now and will last a couple more years.

Exactly how a Barbera is supposed to taste like.

Despite my espoused reservations about Barbera, I haven't had Cesare's Barbara. Youthful of course but a pleasant surprise.
