Cotes de Bordeaux Trip; 7/23/2019-7/27/2019: So floral on the nose, savory, with brothy elements on top of vibrant red fruits. Showing nice power from the tannins but really fresh, too. Tart red currants, dark plums, the fruit is laced with savory, peppery, meaty tones. Lots of underlying graphite, minerals, rocky notes. Tank-fermented, aged 14 months in amphorae, this is all Merlot from clay, limestone, silex soils. Very exciting stuff.
