Appearance: Medium density, core is opaque but transitions slowly towards a lighter rim. Rim has some small shades of brown showing some age. The color is really saturated and is staining my glass. Medium fast if not very fast legs.
Nose: Immediate Cherries and other fruit. There is a very slight touch of warm bread but too soft for a typical Bordeaux. There are some oak notes like vanilla and other generic oak.
Palate: Medium-light tannins, medium dryness, with some sharp acidity. The wine is unbalanced, with too much acidity near the end. Notes include cherries from before but now with raspberries and other generic herbal notes. Oak returns but with some spiciness instead of vanilla.
Overall: Not really impressed. Generic notes with little to no distinguishable features. Also was slightly unbalanced but still drinkable. I would not consider buying again at $18 CAD though.

Cotes de Bordeaux Trip; 7/23/2019-7/27/2019: A bit more concentrated on the nose but still all red fruit, with menthol, incense and floral potpourri notes. Medium tannins, plush texture, medium acidity. Red plums and juicy cherries with menthol, pepper, mint, earth. Pretty but complex. 2016 – I am loving this vintage so much, and this wine overdelivers for the price point. Merlot with 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Malbec.

Delicious plum flavours. Nicely integrated wood. Very good wine that is food friendly. I’m already looking forward to the next bottle!
