Lemon-yellow color; high intensity aromatics with petrol, lime, striking schist and minerality; palate is medium bodied, off-dry, medium acidity (respectable, but could use a touch more for more vibrancy), balanced alcohol (9%); medium-length finish. Certainly has character, though more good rather than great at this stage. 90 An hour or two later: I keep coming back to this with interest, as it certainly has a certain something. Uniqueness, character. Enjoyable for my first Merkelbach, and I'm curious what the other bottlings will show.
