Medium red color, medium plus acidity, 14.5%etoh, medium plus tannin. On the nose, a little closed right now yet hints of black raspberry and cherry dried fruit with a touch of reduction and asphalt after a rain when the sun just emerges. On the palate: a little sweet and sour sensation with black cherry. Delightful. A bit early drinking, recommend another 5 years in bottle at least. 92+ with more age.

Tasting at Louis Jadot (Beaune): Vines dating to 1928. The nose is forward and intense with meat, spice and a cross-section of red and black cherry. So much concentration of dense, ripe fruit yet fresh and long. Tons of peppery spice. 95+

Burgundy, Day 1 (Beaune, France): From vines planted in 1928, representing some of the oldest holdings in the Jadot stable. This wine is just a pure example of the intensity that you get from old vines; you can feel the shot berries on the palate here with the tannic grip on the finish. Black-fruited, but not overly sweet and some very prominent tannins that will take a good amount of time to resolve.
