From 125 year-old vines this was still incredibly backward and tannic, yet emerging though the mist were black fruits, tar and liquorice. The finish though was amazing with persistent complex flavours. Clear to see this will become a remarkable wine but probably needs another 10 years. CHP 93 pts

Opened a bottle at Bee Heong Palace to celebrate my father-in-law's birthday.
Decanted for 2 hours prior consumption. Beautiful purple-crimson in colour. On the nose the opulence of the berries and the subtlety of prunes and plums puts this in a similar bracket as the other top Aussie Shiraz producers. Faint notes of aged oak, leather, dark coffee, and cigar were noticeable in the finish.
Definitely on par with the top range Australian red wines which i've had.
Smooth, delicate, and nearly flawless. Great to drink now (do give it a decent decant to do justice to the wine) or wait another 5 to 10 years before opening the next bottle.
