Really good. Dark color and taste suggests “mature” but how idea how long lived these will be. Tastes superb now, though. Honeyed orchard fruits, spices, a suggestion of residual sugar. If looking for a frame of reference this tastes like a good dry mosel spatlese with some age on it, but really I think these Ovum wines just take like themselves.

Almost 2 years since our last bottle and this one had a more perceptible level of RS than I remember. Then again, it was also the bottling that I recalled the least. Either way, enjoyable as an opening bottle and on a day when the “Fall” weather turned unexpectedly warm.

Bought 2b for 15/b at a local independent shop on the recommendation of the wine director; this is #1. Light gold-green; reticent nose with some tart berry, bit of citrus; dry, subdued fruit. Overall simple and lacking Riesling character. Purchased in part to appease Riesling doubters, but this does not make a good case. Could this be past prime due to the vinting? We'll see if bottle #2 impresses. Quality, age, price: Drinkable+.

Chilled, popped and poured. Vibrant, salty, mineral tropical fruits on the nose. Whopping mouth feel with great texture and more salty/fruity notes with some straw and a faint, faint hint of petrol. I really like this cuvee.

I really enjoy these wines! Everything I look for in an ABC white - aromatic intrigue, freshness from bright acidity and food friendly, though just as happy to by drunk without.
