Beautiful and glossy in the glass. No brown edges. Discreet and elegant nose. Classic Pinot expression. Juicy and mouthfilling. Lots of fruit, not tertiary at all right now. Really long aftertaste. A beautiful mature burgundy from a top producer in a top vintage. Drink up.

Dark red; nice deep dark fruity nose, mulberry/strawberry; soft silky attack, nice depth, very good flavours, likeable sweetness, long deep aftertaste, a bit dry in the ending; very good and much better than last tasted five years ago; ready!

More on the masculine side of Chambolle and more terroir-driven and less reliant upon its fruit. Dark stone fruit, integrating wood, spice, and earth. Reminds me of Feussolottes. Very enjoyable, not particularly elegant or lacey, but displays great transparency and balance that I've found typical of H-N. This will age more on soil than on fruit, so I'd drink now if fruit is your bag. First of 4 bottles -- I'll personally hold the rest for a bit, as there is a bunch of unevolved material here. Drank over about four hours.

Medium dark red; closed, takes time to open up and even then quite closed, some raspberry; quite sharp and thin, where's the fruit? Some depth, but all in all had expected (much) more

A robust Chambolle. Lots of stuffing, but a long way from maturity. Dark fruited and medium bodied. Try again in three years.
