Drank with Cedric Tang from the wine list at Chez Patrick Deli, Star Street, Hong Kong. Decanted for 20-30 minutes and paired with pan-fried Charolais steaks. Light transparent ox-blood colour. Good nose......bilberries, raspberries and blueberries with a nice Bordeaux oak lift that the Chateau is well-known for. Unfortunately the palate is light and a bit dilute in mouthfeel.....tight, tart, taut blackberry fruit with too much acidity. The remaining fruit will fade fast with any more time in the cellar. Fully mature and rather disappointing for a 1996.
