Christmas dinner -- four-hour decant, and I'm glad we did. This has aged exceptionally well. Big legs but without the big punch of many Napa Cabs. A nice floral nose and incredibly smooth on the tongue. Compared to my favorite wines from Pritchard Hill -- David Arthur, for example -- it's difficult to taste the Hill in this. It doesn't have the usual Pritchard Hill gravel or weight, and so is perhaps a tad too polite for what I usually like. That said, it is undeniably elegant for sure. A lovely wine from a lovely winery.

This is an outstanding Cab S that is very well balanced. It’s hi in alcohol, tannins, acid and complex fruit and secondary flavors. The finish is long. Blackberry, black cherry, blueberry, tomato leaf, hint of earthiness, oak, leather. Will continue to develop as it ages.

Virtual tasting with proprietor Jim Bean. A darker character with bramble berry fruit complementing the red currant core. A bit of leather. Not as sweet as previous vintages, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but also less expressive. Couldn't really see the argument here for an „early drinking vintage“ as the palate did not come across well integrated with mouth-coating tannin and just not quite enough fruit for an exciting finish. The weakest in this 2014-2017 mini-vertical.

Really nice wine. Blieberry, clay, mineral, big bold flavor and strong tannins. Very tart if that’s what you’re after. 2 hour decant

This was incredibly smooth for being a 2017. Rich, velvety fruit. Outstanding yet it feels like it still has room to grow as it ages.
