Colour has advanced considerably, though rubied core. Nose bursting with warm red berried fruit, rounded. Soft, supple palate, lots of fruit, yet retains a good core, giving structure. Fully ready, with an expansive finish.

Deep purple-red wine; aromas show violet, pencil, faecal/wild, blackberry, raspberry, blue flowers, and hot minerals. On the palate, it is robust and full-bodied for a CDR, with fine-edged but grippy tannins and a touch of heat and cayenne spice. The flavours include ripe blackberry, raspberry, pepper, rooibos tea and a wild Sauvage element that expands on the finish. The wine has crisp acidity and a mineral freshness, with a touch of black cherry compote towards the end. It is a relatively simple wine in terms of spices and oak, but it offers more stuffing and elements compared to typical CdR wines.

Licorice and raisins on the noise; spiced cake? It's full bodied so perhaps a bit heavy on day 1 to enjoy with food. Could overpower. Day 2 reduces the tannic pulse coming through - recommend this one have plenty of time to breathe. From the bottle (no decant). Flavours of black currant, plum, and spice (sweet and black pepper) perhaps even a degree of dark chocolate

Medium body , medium finish. Decent quaff but better after being open half an hour or more. Good value for a midweek bottle or after the palate is done.
