Vice Versa weekend and dinner: Strike two with this wine. For lack of a better term, this wine was a bit of a snoozer. It was “fine” in the technical sense, but it really was just a flat affective display of fruit and minerality. It didn’t have much of a beginning or an end. It just existed. Hold bottles a few years just cuz I really have no idea what else can be done to cattle prod this wine into having a pulse.
The awesome 2017 version of this wine is totally on another planet compared to this drab 2018.

Struck matchstick reduction dominates, with lemon drop, cantaloupe rind, and white peach pushing to get attention. Broad shouldered and slightly clunky right now; unresolved and looking to find a groove. The stuffing is there, but its individual components are still on different planets right now. A wine that needs 3-4 years of cellaring to find seamlessness. Try again in 2025.
