When I saw the dark colour and smelt the over confected nose and bearing in mind the new style the Chateau seems to be going for, I feared the worst. However the balancing acidity is excellent and though rather more toffee than exotic fruit flavours it is really good and enjoyable. Good length and no sign of cloying.

The wine looks caramel colored. It smells like pineapple, mango, apricot, peach, honeysuckle, orange blossom and vanilla. The body is full. The wine finishes long. The wine has high acidity.

Nose: Fresh, ripe pineapple, butterscotch, toasted coconut, dried apricot.
Palate: Apricot preserves, charred pineapple, flan (with burnt caramel), light roast coffee.
Full, syrupy body, very sweet (of course), bright acidity, looong finish.

I wrote that last year. In the meantime, it has gained weight and complexity.
A great wine. Words fail me. But I have two more bottles, and words will return.
