Something slightly earthy on the nose, not much fruit, just out of drinking window according to TWS. Dried/stewed fruit maybe. Juicy and fresh palate, red fruits, cherries, raspberries?, nice acidity to freshen finish. No real tannin to speak of. Wants to be lightly chilled, pleasantly quaffable for £7

Stelvin closure. Ruby with a tending towards brick. Clear rim is abnormally wide - filtration by numbers? I would suggest 45 Nm at least! Nose is very light strawberry if anything. Palate is a nice red fruit bomb with a decent finish albeit a rather chalky abrupt end. It’s ok, it’s cheap - that’s life!

Funky but fresh and creamy Gamay nose. Palate is raspberry/red cherry but with a dark and juicy blackcurrant core; finishes with a touch of spice. A sort of classy rustic table wine.
£7.95 from the Wine Society. Gamay & Pinot Noir. 13.5%
Recommend.
At 24 hours; the creamy red berry quality of the Gamay had gone but the savoury Pinot darker fruit core held up well.
At 48 hours; still drinkable but like an unremarkable generic low/medium bodied blended red with a little of the juicy core still hanging around.

I think this is excellent value for money. Has a pinot noir mustiness and that classic savoury character you expect from good Pinot Noir. Served at around 16C it was singing. Slipped down far too quickly!

Needs the summer. Sour cherry and acidity come through a bit more out of that context.
