  • Slightly pale reddish purple in appearance which is not the color on would expect from a tawny port. The nose is rather reserved, very primary with simplistic impressions of cooked black raisins and prunes but not much of anything else except for some alcoholic heat. The palate is medium-bodied, rather one-dimensional, with medium intensity, not very viscous, with a inoffensive mouth-coating sweetness without much of anything else to offer except for a little hint of wood. The flavors in this tawny port is very basic with sweet dried sultanas, cherries and other dark red, black and blue fruits, slight vegetal and very minimal oak nuances and ends with a clean but short finish. A simple port that does neither appear nor taste like a tawny port. Can't really complain given the relatively modest price tag.
