  • paid a bit for this , and was looking forward to it. so disappointing , full of brettanomyces, and the worst kind, "smelly band aid and antiseptic. an unacceptable fault. Pity as the underlying structure was good , and alcohol only 13.5 , another plus

  • Nice nose of red fruit, peppery notes, savory, a bit of brett, and forest notes. Good acidity, tart plum, red berries, blood orange, and grippy tannins on thr palate. Good finish. Quite delicious natural Cotes du Rhône. A bit expensive, though.

  • Strong aromas of cow dung that are replicated on the palate - not sure what Finare Vinare saw in note below but this wine is representative of the worst aspects of “natural wine” - should not be sold to paying consumers without a warning - had the 2019 version side by side - remarkably consistent on the nose and palate to what I noted above - PASS

  • Syrah (90%) and Grenache (10%) from lieu-dit 'La Roche Coucourde' near the village of Faucon in Vaucluse - a vineyard fairly high in altitude on the western foothills of Mont Ventoux. A zero-zero wine, aged in used barrels. The nose displays the carnal or animalistic side of Syrah, with a bit of barnyard thrown in for good measure, but also some beautiful violets, blackberries and black cherries over an earthy backdrop. The palate is full-bodied with a solid tannin structure and excellent stuffing of extract without coming across as extracted, alcohol slightly above average, and a surprisingly mineral-driven freshness in the warm vintage. Cellar prospects look promising - it will be interesting to follow this over the next five to seven. (Disclaimer: ITB with Swedish importer Vin & Natur)
