  • Was shocked when I started drinking this. Thought it was the base Freemark Napa Cab. Checked the label, realized it was the Rutherford. Oh, that Rutherford dust. So flavorful. Long finish. Rich, with intense fruit flavors. Should have given this more time. But it was still so good.

  • This wine has a wonderful nose of black and blue fruit with a hint of deep oak flavors. Those fragrances carry across the palate with a balance of fruit and oak with moderate grippy tannins and appropriate balance of alcohol on the finish.

This is a very well constructed wine with all the elements in the right proportions and in the right places. Served after an hour and a half decant.

Wonderfully accompanied a main course of filet mignon with sautéed shallots and cognac butter, scalloped potatoes with fontina cheese and gently buttered green beans.

  • Great bones for the future but drank this way too early. Plenty of structure. Fruit forward with notes of raspberry compote, dark cherry, oaky vanilla and eucalyptus. Full bodied with a long finish but tannins are dominant.

  • I’m growing into a huge Rutherford fan. Soft tannins and long finish with cherry and spice flavors. The nose is very soft but gets more robust with time in the glass. I suspect it will improve in a year or two.Very enjoyable. If you are a fan of Rutherford, you will like this wine.

  • Not to put too fine a point on it- this wine is (as my wife said) "so f'ing good." There is something special that hits you with the first time you put your nose in the glass and see its vibrant ruby color. You just know that you need to eat a steak and drink a bottle of this with someone you love. Maybe there's a hint of anise, or a dash of barbecue sauce, or grabbing handfula herbs from your garden, thyme oregano basil, or maybe there's some chocolate coffee decadence. It just has everything you want built on a framework of robust tanins, velvety long caresses through the whole mouth. I am going to shut up and drink now.
