Opened and decanted two bottles for a Xmas party. Excellent CA Merlot. Drank better as evening progressed. Really opened up and showed off. All raved about it.

I had the 2017 oak knoll cab a bit ago... I might favor that... this was tight at first but grew on me....I find it kinda quiet or muted...but draws me in.. dark fruit...lavender...swirling envokes lots of strawberry...orange...brown sugar... ill see day 2 a few small pours from decanter...theres not alot of grit here its really polished almost soft but theres a higher acid...lacking some guts... but quite tasty in terms of cali merlot...this is quite cool fruited mid weight...mildly extracted...I dig it ...starting to get creamy...lots of wood of palate day 3 kinda tells the tale here...lots of makeup...but still pretty good

Delicious as always. Didn’t quite hold up as we remembered, but still enjoyed.
