Big, bold and concentrated, this blend has dark plum fruit with massive tannins. Notes of currant, cedar and coffee emerge after a three hour decant. Do not even think about popping and pouring this wine…it drinks like it was made last year.

A celebration of a 64th, wines that will still be great on my 64th

The Pluribus twinned with the Cos, and it did not disappoint. In fact, it struck us as more Old World than the Cos. It's starting to open, but the Bond is still bruising. Big minerality, massive tannins, and huge black fruits hit like a sledgehammer. At this point, the Cos is slightly rounder and more open. I can't believe I typed that, but it's true. Amazing.

Lots to like here, but this was a bit of a disappointing showing given the pedigree, and my affinity for this bottling. The wine came across as very green, showing some distinctly bitter notes alongside mocha and graphite flavors. There was a very long, clean finish.

Deep maroon. Ripe plum and black currant fruit. Massive cassis and pencil lead notes. Firm tannins starting to integrate on the finish. Really terrific now and will certainly continue to improve. Wish current vintages were not so pricy.

Massive earth tones on the nose. Chalkiness and
Smooth initial.attack which is delicious and then with some strong acidity that could still soften and integrate.
