Slightly rusted red with a clear meniscus. Forest floor, smoke, violets and earth fill the nose. Floral, mushrooms, peaks of bright acidity, muddled cherry compote and smoked sausage flavors are still present. Fell apart quickly with air. Structurally, it is thin and lacks vividness. This is several years past its prime, would have been best 3-5 years ago. Still has hints of greatness, which is unfortunately faded now.

A big wine that is ready to drink now. There is an earthy and musky nature to the nose to be sure. Additionally, there is heat. Also on the palate. A bit too much for me, personally. However, for many, this is exactly what they will want, like '06 Willamette or California Pinots (for the most part). Definitely has the cherry and juiciness that makes Pinot. All in all, not my style, but still a good bottle of wine.

Good taste but drinking late. Should have drank 1 year ago for best taste. Wine was still above average.

Bright cherry fruit but also a nice, earthy and slightly musky overtone. Very well made wine...good integration.
