Drank my last bottle of this over the weekend. Still drinking well but a noticeable decline from the last time I had this. Weak midpalate and less fruit. Drink up if you have any left. 86 points.

Initally there was a wonderful rush of red fruit and herby elements on the palate. Followed by a hollow middle and short finish. This was probably a really nice wine a few years ago, but no longer has the tannin or acid to support the finish. Still, it was pleasant to drink with our dinner. Giving a numerical rating here would be like scoring an octogenarian in the swimwuit contest - not quite sporting.

For a brief moment after opening, it had bright fruit and cherry flavors, then within 10 minutes it was dead and nothing more than alcohol and wood... Not the fault of the wine -- it was just too old.

"Arguably the greatest producer of Chianti Classico" according to James Suckling. I agree. Drank one in 1/02. Medium bodied. A perfect match for almost any Italian meal. Nice aromas of violets and berries. Very smooth. Bright and lively now indicating the tannins have faded to let the rich fruit prevail. At it's peak.
