Decent bottle of wine for 12 bucks. I used some in my pot roast and drank some. It's a solid 12-15 dollar bottle of wine. decent fruit and finish. Little hot at first but smooths out after 30 minutes or so.

Poured into a stemless Riedel WingWings Cabernet glass is a dark garnet, bloody color clearing at the rim.
The aroma has initial alcohol, soil, cherry, raspberry, and leather. A bit reticent out of the bottle but opens quickly in the glass.
Flavors of blackberry, cherry, cocoa and vanilla. Light upon first sip and becomes sweeter after settling on the palate. Fruit forward and not very complex. Decent balance between sweetness and acidity.
The finish is short and dry with silky tannins. 14% abv but the alcohol is surprisingly not noticeable despite the initial aroma.
Overall decently balanced but the lack of complexity and short finish hold it back. I don’t get an overwhelming presence of oak that some critics claim H3 uses to cover the fruit, it’s an excellent wine for the price and could be enjoyed on its own though I had it with roast chicken and sautéed green beans.

Decent wine, this was served too warm. (at Stacy's house) so it was tough to get a read on it.

Couldn't finish it. Agree that it has been better in previous vintages. This one was just a bunch of oak covering up mediocre fruit.
