Opened at Batard in HK. P&P and enjoyed over dinner.
This was actually really enjoyable - very easy drinking as you'd expect, but it was fairly expressive and had a hint of minerality. Exactly what I was looking for in something easy drinking, and an introduction to Bourgogne for some friends who are looking to learn.
Unsure about upside - probably not - but I imagine this will keep at this level for a few years. Don't hesitate to drink though!

Emmanuel Rouget, neveu du légendaire Henry Jayer, perpétue le savoir-faire exceptionnel de son oncle au Domaine. Les tailles courtes et les rendements raisonnés y sont de rigueur, ainsi que la recherche d'une finesse absolue dans les vins, obtenue grâce à des élevages habituellement courts, mais prolongés à 18 mois pour ce Passetoutgrain pas comme les autres. Ces nectars d'une précision hors norme, sont très rares et extrêmement recherchés ! Le Bourgogne Passetoutgrain est un cas unique de la région car il résulte d'un assemblage de Gamay et de Pinot noir. À l’image de 2018, on retrouve un Passetoutgrain bien consistant, ultra expressif sur les petits fruits croquants et les épices fraîches. La bouche est parfaitement équilibrée entre structure verticale du Pinot et juteux/frais du Gamay.

Another lovely bottle with bright and crunchy red and purple fruit. Drinking well already.

Bright and crunchy red fruit. More Pinot than Gamay. Prefer his 19 over 18 with more purity and brightness. Excellent qpr.
