13% alcohol; imported by Terlato Wines International, Lake Bluff, Illinois; screw top with an aroma of lemon grass and metal; long legs, pale yellow, no effervescence; nose of apples and mangos; medium to full bodied; opened and tasted 20 minutes later at room temperature (25 degrees C); tart but unlike in my previous recent tastings of Wairau River wine no hint in the background of over ripe fruit; I didn't detect the presence of grapefruit noticed by several other reviewers; definitely not fruit forward; the finish is short to medium; pair with with hors d'oeuvres or dessert cheeses

Color - Pale light yellow Nose - Grapefruit, stone fruit maybe Peaches Palate - Grapefruit is predominate with hint of Lemon-Lime, crisp sharp flavor, Marlboro style. The grapefruit is almost overbearing and I can see why so many reviewers were turned off but I personally like that characteristic. Those who prefer the California style, grassy and not as bold I can see why the dislike.

Just a great nose. Refreshingly crisp when served cold, but yet develops a nice creaminess as it gets to room temperature.
