Relatively dark colour, nose shows dark berries, palate shows impressive concentration. Ripe character of the vintage shows but there is enough acidity to balance. Slightly heavier than I would prefer, but a solid wine that can improve further with a couple more years of aging. Drink or hold.

Everything I like about burgundy. Dark ruby, almost purple and a far cry from the lighter styles of Pinot noir. The nose has a touch of funk and earthiness, giving way to a medley of red and dark fruits, maybe some baking spices. Medium acid and tannins on the palate, some notes of sour cherries and cola, medium length. All in all a fantastic Pinot noir from Marchand Tawse.
