  • Well, the impossibly Tan is a wine that is almost impossible to describe, and in a good way. Like all of Sauls wines, they are going to make you think and work for it a little bit. The burnt orange color is the result of the Pinot gris being macerated on its skins - which is normal enough - but the taste, quite quite different. The combination of sweet and bitterness had me thinking I was drinking a Amaro (or Negroni as the web site says) based drink which certainly is a good thing in my book. Certainly plenty of verve and acidic cut, refreshing, and at the end of the day, I really did enjoy this most unusual wine. I think a bit more time (just a year or so) might be beneficial as well. Fun stuff.
