  • Purple in color with a wide reddish rim.

Fruity nose of blueberries, sweet cherries, light oak, licorice, cloves, chocolates, tobacco, spices, coffee and black pepper.

Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity.

Dry on the palate with cherries, raspberries, black currants, plums, oak, tobacco, cloves, herbs, spices and dark chocolates.

Tangy finish with soft tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a young Cabernet Sauvignon from Israel, but starting to drink nicely now.

Easy drinking, good right out of the bottle, and better after an hour of airtime. Nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel. Spicy and interesting.

Would be nice to revisit it in a couple of years.

Will pair nicely with BBQ Meats.
I paired it with cheeses and crackers.

Grapes are grown in the Upper Galilee region. Aged in French oak barrels for 18 months. Kosher and Mevushal.

    14% alcohol by volume.

    90 points.

    $30.

  • Barkan, Platinum, Cabernet Sauvignon, 2018: Yes, this TN is real. Dark, royal purple, with on the nose blackberries, black cherries, hints of toasted oak, nutmeg, fresh herbs and green foliage. Medium to full-bodied, nice concentration, with healthy, juicy black, purple and blue fruit upfront, hints of graphite and licorice, notes of spices, basil, and tobacco, medium-plus acidity, with mouth-coating tannins rising towards a long and mouth-filling finish. I'm stunned. This is by far the best Barkan red I have tasted since the 2009 Assemblage Tzafit. A very well-made, approachable and balanced CabSav. Just feels like a wine properly made from quality fruit. 14% Abv. Drink now-2024. 90+

  • Impressive bottle, other than this... nothing good worth mentioning. Actually... almost undrinkable - unpleasant aroma that I can't identify and the same is on the palate, metal like taste, unpleasant bitterness... most likely will not be finished. To state it very simply - does not taste like a wine.
