This was tasty; ripe orchard fruits, a bit of spice and butter; less minerality than I typically get from Mesnil, but still quite tasty. Good depth on the palate and well balanced. Drinkable now.

Cuvee Holiday Luncheon: Served with Green Hill (double cream) tart with yuzu cream, toasted almonds, grapefruit zest. This was another lovely pairing highlighting citrus and pastry in the wine while keeping the sweetness low in the tart. The wine has low dosage at 3g/l may have made this more suitable for an earlier course. Either way, it was virtually impossible to follow Grand Siecle 22, Philipponnat 1522 and Grand Annee with incredible pairings so this one was slightly lost and less fairly considered. We have more so we look forward to a just consideration.

Initial note of lemon. Rounded out. While it is no Comtes (and doesn't cost the same), this is a lovely, rather full-bodied BdB.
