Family Holidays; 7/28/2023-9/10/2023 (Alicante - España): By the glass. Supposedly one of the great jewels of Philipponnat and yet it has left us rather impavid. Assembly of 81% chardonnay and 19% pinot noir. Matured eight years over its own lees. Alcoholic volume of 12%. Weak aromas of almonds and pears on the nose. Fine bubble on the palate, practically inexpressive, watery texture with an unusual sweet and sour sauce finish (!). Despite its impeccable theoretical origin, we will think that it was a bottle with defects in order not to harm it.

I enjoyed all of these bottles and this was no different; seductive and easy to enjoy with enough complexity and still fresh; I would have liked to see how it aged a bit more, but to be honest the bottle shape is funky and didn't fit in my racking and the sloped aspect of it made it impossible to stack so I just drank them up... I wish Champagne would have more uniform bottles...

This is disappearing quickly; it is quite tasty right now and so easy to enjoy; it is also a funky size/shape which makes storing it a pain... not much has changed since I started drinking these, but definitely still enjoyable.

Pronounced nose intensity with note of lemon, apple, pear, biscuit, bread. High acidity.
