Decanted off sediment and back to bottle in refrigerator for 12h prior to serving. Just phenomenal with plenty of life ahead. Part of a wine dinner and was WOTN.
Dark and purple fruits that are just drying underpinned by dusty earth. Everything well integrated with plenty of complexity. Takes a bit of air for some density to shed and the beautiful elegant wine underneath to shine.
Ready for primetime. No hesitation but plenty of life ahead.

Excellent as ever, and as ever, needs 3 hours to show. Went beautifully with short ribs. I served this to a guy who hasn't had a sip of alcohol in 47 years (it's okay - he had a doctor's note) and he loved it.

4th Saturday Brown Bagger (Eagle Brook CC): Double blind. Notes of black currants, warm spices and a bit of blue fruit as well. Medium tannins. Abundant black and red fruit on the palate. Balanced, with a long finish. Just a very complete wine. Guessed Napa cab sauv around ten years old.
Good to see an old favorite show up. We enjoyed our last bottle in 2017, and the additional time has served this very well. Drinking beautifully, and if this was a truly representative sample, there's no need to rush. I'm still sitting on some of the '02 franc...perhaps it's time to check in on that again. (T&L)
Hey! If you're reading this because you own one of these, decant! Decant for 2-3 hours. These always throw a crazy amount of sediment, and they need 2-3 hours before they show. Magnificent as always.

Fooled me yet again - 100% needed 3 hours before it opened up. Still one of the best Napa wines in my cellar.
