An Expansive Tasting at Hugel (Riquewihr, France): Deep yellow. Less floral and more honeyed compared to the 2019 Estate. Medium to full bodied with a silky, seamless feel that is rich but not heavy. Orange zest, pineapple, and excellent tart acidity. Delicious, long, and so well balanced for Gewurztraminer, easily handling its 94 grams of sugar. Hugel does an amazing job with this type of wine, and I say this as a skeptic when it comes to this varietal.
