Needs and hour or two of air open up properly. While airing there are aromatics of black cherry, herbs and silage. Thankfully the silage element dissipated with airing. Once aired is a brooding black cherry-based wine with thyme and mint notes at the back palate. I enjoyed the balance with the acidity nicely controlled.

Quite brooding and compact still but with real quality. Was completely closed on first pouring but opened up a bit after a splash decant and even better second day. Dense nose of ripe dark berries and plums, but also a layer of baking spice and something more musky and animal-like. Really juicy and powerful palate; high acid and chewy tannins but so much fruit there that it’s no chore to drink now. Outstanding with a simple puy lentil dish with chicken breast. Happy to drink another bottle young but will leave the other three for 5-10 years.

N...medium-rich red fruit but not much beyond that, a bit of a simple fruit bomb so far.
C....solid red
T.....rich inky sweet ripe fruit, too sweet/out of balance?; gentle tannins, a hint of structure eventually arrives, plus acid; cassis fruit, blueberry, ripe red plum; ends medium-dry; just a hint of minerals. It needs to be more balanced and elegant but at least it sits well in the soft ripe but juicy slightly crunchy Beaujolais slot. It might be interesting to see if it dries out in the cellar.
VFMoney?....feels worth around £15.00, probably £20.00 at best.

Austere end of the Beaujolais crus I was drinking. Darkish fruits. Plum? More structure.

Ripping acid in the best way (for me) but not unbalanced.
