Cru Wines Trade Tasting (Bentley Bar & Restaurant, Sydney): Woody, savoury, waxy, cream, slight bruised apple, caramel. Medium plus intensity acidity, rich, woody flavoured textured is grippy but silky. Medium plus length finish. Food wine!

Has the smokey oxidative note to it. Smokey fermentation note, oxidative like it a bit old. But fresh on the palate and rounded in natured. Lovely and full actually. Smells like an aged reductive godeo. And apparently he was way found of burgundy.

Bright lemon in the glass. Restrained but layered nose with grapefruit, peach, biscuits, ginger and shaved brazil nut. Bone dry will a full body balanced by lovely high acidity. Flavours of melon and pineapple emerge on the palate which culiminates in a long, savoury finish. Drink now or hold.
WSET notes:
Medium lemon.
Medium plus intensity on the nose with ripe grapefruit, peach, chamomile, melon, pineapple, cedar, biscuit, ginger, brazil nut, hay and honey. Developing.
Pronounced and dry on palate. Full body, high acidity, medium alcohol, medium body, long finish.
Can drink now but has potential for aging.

A little too dry and funky for my taste.
