This wine is really starting to shine with precise aromatics and flavors combining with a sultry texture. The nose is gorgeous with notes of black cherry, plum, lavender, and wet stones. The palate is quite expansive for the appellation with sweet red fruits, crisp acidity, and supple tannins. This is straightforward but so seductive, a true dream at a long lost price point.

Garnet color in the glass, a little dusty looking. Nose of ash, black berries and plums. Flavors of red berries, raspberries and cherries. Medium acidity, medium tannin, medium body. Drink now.

Tasted non blind. Opened about 3 hours before, poured a glass for cooking and re-corked until served.
Garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Subdued nose of berries, plums, light currant notes and a bit of a vanilla like component I can't pinpoint. Flavors of tart berries, herbs du Provence and a plum finish. Medium acidity, resolved tannins, medium body. Drink now folks. You can chance it (I still have 9 bottles goodness) but I'm afraid the palate will disintegrate on me.

Garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of thatch, dill, dried herbs, a bit of florals and some mixed red fruits. Flavors of red berries and tart red cherries. Bright acidity, medium tannins, light to medium body. Drink now.
My guess was the 2004 Domaine Joseph Roty Bourgogne Cuvée Pressonnier (I brought this bottle and the 2000 Faugeres so I knew they were in the line up someplace).

Rough and off-putting at first, with lots of air, still some Bugundy pinot clarity of fruit and potent acidity push through. I think this wine will improve and would hold remaining bottles for a couple of years. Not great by any stretch, but nothing to sneeze at, either. Remarkable the depths a regional wine like this in a year like 2004 can contain.
