Wow. Truly a cut above of the usual Napa Valley SB. Clean and fresh from the jump, with aromas of white peach and green apple. Incredible energy through the palate. Medium, slightly tart finish. Bravo Sam!

Excellent Sauvignon Blanc. Had alongside Hourglass’ 2020 Sauvignon Blanc which provided a nice comparative. The MM had a little more body and leaned more tropical than the HG. The MM was definitely the bigger of the 2 but still felt balanced, really nice stone fruit / white peach, medium finish. Didn’t find it as green as MC2 did but perhaps it’s opened up some or had come up in temperature in the bottle. Looks like Sam went with 11 months aging in 50% new French oak which makes sense in hindsight for the bigger body / more full mouthfeel.

Return to Napa; 3/6/2022-3/13/2022 (Wineries and various restaurants): Interesting too see a different Sauvignon Blanc from Sam (his wine at Arkenstone is one of our favorite white wines of Napa Valley). Here he goes more of the crisper, touch green style of the wine. Green apple and a bit of lime and very tart. Fresh. Drinks well overall
