Completely different taste profile compared to just 8 months ago. This can no longer be confused with a typical Chablis, definitely a ringer for a Cote de Beaune white. The oak influence is obvious now with generous buttery, marzipan, almost sweet notes on the nose. Enters the palate creamy, broad and round but balanced throughout by a striking acidity. Extremely fine overall despite the slightly prominent alcohol on the finish. These magical 110 year old vines create what I believe is currently the best value white under the burgundy sky.

Starts out a bit disjointed, but settles into a rather rich profile of ripe apples, almond paste, and butterscotch with a slightly bitter finish. Really interesting to smell and taste.
The natural cork was perfect.

I’m running out of those. Damn they’re good. Served double blind. My awesome blind tasting master of a friend went directly to 2020 but went to Saint-Aubin 1er Cru instead. See my previous CT notes. Great wine.

Enjoyed this wine. Apple and floral notes on the nose. I get butterscotch and some oak on the palate. The finish is medium long.
