My bottle. Purchased on release. I took this to our party at di Fara. I didn't get to sit with it much and I did not get a formal note. I remember showing nice plummy fruit, some noticeable but fairly well integrated sweet oak, some spice, earth, cocoa & coffee. There is a little heat but not much. Pretty good for what it is - from what i understand, the wines became much heavier and less balanced with later vintages. Probably 16/20.

Wow! As my good friend and drinking buddy best described the nose: Cherry Slurpee. I was amazed at how sweet and fruity the nose was. Decanted for 4-5 hours and enjoyed oaver the final hour. Nice earthy taste with black cherry and oak and leather.

Have to say, I was incredibly surprised. No browning/bricking, the wine looked like it was bottled yesterday. A bit tart out of the gates, it gave off a brown sugar nose (Kistler-esque?) for a bit and then mellowed out to a more sweet, raspberry profile. Great stuff

Cabs Covering 30 Years at Black Sheep Bistro (Black Sheep Bistro Tustin): Odd nose was hard to pin down but I did get some sweetness. This was on the tart side with a strong grip. Nicely flavored it overcomes a weak mid palate with a big finish. Seemed to pick up some weight over dinner. My 2nd go around with this year and I've liked it both times.
