Method: universal wine glass at wine tasting dinner; lightly chilled
Nose: coconut, banana, ripe pear
Palate: ripe pear, apple; finish of lightly bitter herbs and mineral; dry; full body; medium acidity; low- tannin
Overall thoughts: Big, powerful, rich, but sufficiently balanced. I think this will age nicely in the medium term, so I'll probably open my next bottle in about 3 years to see how it's doing. Great wine.

Open that botte - Jason chooses 2009 Trotanoy (Dan's new condo): Decanted and served immediately, drank about 1/3rd of the bottle over 2 hours. This started out as a flamboyant oaky buttery chardonnay. But with just minimal decant/glass time, it relaxed into a more balanced chardonnay with nice minerality and acidity. In fact, towards the end there was not much chardonnay characteristic to it. I really like this blend. I hope this adds complexity with more years of age, then it will really be a head-turner. Update - A glass the next time was more caramelly and also spicier, although not lacking or falling apart, which is pretty good for a next day extremely well-oxygenated chardonnay blend.

Fantastic blend. Complex, rich, unctuous. You think and linger after each sip for a good 10 seconds. Very fun.

A bit more buttery than what I would’ve liked but good overall. 2019 was better imo

Splash double decant which was helpful as this is a big wine. Super unique and absolutely delicious. Better with air but no rush to drink
