This needs a copious decant at this stage. It took about 4-5 hours before this came out of its shell - but had a wonderful bouquet of florals once it opened up. Tasted side by side with the '20 SQN Grenache and the styles are remarkably different - the SQN much more aromatic and expressive, while this was more restrained. I have to admit the SQN is more enjoyable now, but I am very much looking forward to seeing where Fingers Crossed is headed.
Trying to make a Monday fun (Richmond district): The nose is so aromatic, like an atomic bomb of fruit that was dropped and a huge mushroom cloud of dark red and purple flowers with top soil, and a brooding blend of ripe but young plums (the type with the dark, bloody and purple flesh).
Palate shows a streak of dark purple plums and light notes of ripened blueberries, and a bit of graphite. Earthy and tree bark bitterness encompasses the fruit. There's also some booziness that shows a bit but clashes with the stylish fruits that has this flair of brightness.

Intense nose of stewed strawberry and black pepper. Strawberry, leater, black licorice, cinnamon. Smooth tannons and med+ acid that lends to a long finish.
Wow, the things I had to do to get this because of state laws...but oh so worth it. No decant, and honestly was quite a powerful lady out of the gate, but still delicious. Probably better in the decanter for an hour or two as it really started to show gorgeously after sitting in the glass for a bit. I just love Central/Southern California Grenache these days.
