Had I drank this blind, I would have guessed Syrah. Dominates over the Cab component. Very new world. The alcohol is prominent and faded just slightly at day 3. For that reason a bit out of balance, hence not 90 or above

Very unique nose that's a cross between a Pinot and a Syrah. Interesting. Palate shows a wonderfully balanced wine with red/blue fruits. I get some red cherries, raspberry and red plum. I also get the slightest hint of blueberry. There’s. some sassafras, tea leaf and scorched earth. I wanted a wine with distinction, and I got one; light weighted wine, almost weightless, but heavy on taste. Tannins are fully resolved. I love this one’s approach, presence and departure. Wow. Wish I had more. Purchased on Gary Vs recommendation and glad I did. I don't do that too often, and I am glad I did.

(K Vintners Ovide) #1; COLOR-dark; NOSE-tremendous nose; tomato's; herbs; tobacco; smokey ribs; TASTE-this is a winning formula; when you can extract this much black fruit (blackberries; blueberries & mulberries), yet give such a sense of balance; this is not just an over extracted fruit bomb; this is mean & lean and very focused fruit; nice chalk dust on the mid-palate; gorgeous tobacco; gorgeous dark fruits; the finish is so long; my palate is completely coated; I love this wine; this is incredible and rocks my palate; big flavor, but balanced; has power, but elegance; this tastes like a $100+ wine and is an absolute STEAL at $55 bones ; GV-93+

Strawberries on the nose. Warm, floral and tannic. Above average. Nothing exciting.

Probably reaching the end of its prime, but the in-your-face fruit has really mellowed and this is showing really great balance right now.
