  • A delicious and well-made Dolcetto.
Not without elegance with its pure fruit and freshness, but also a bit rustic. I’ve had better Dolcetto before, but it delivers more than usual for the variety. Good stuff!

Very expressive bouquet offering deep and dark notes (with a good freshness though) of crushed blackberry, blackcurrant jam, baked plums, elderberry juice and candied cherry. The freshness comes from a mild but present VA and a mild minty scent. Dark chocolate, dried herbs, black pepper, sweet licorice, fresh topsoil and warm tar, finishing with a dry floral touch of lavender and violets.
It’s medium-bodied with medium acidity and some present tannins (grippy but not overwhelming). Quite a juicy and crunchy palate. Generally a lot of dark berries (fresh and candied) with blueberry, blackberry and dark, sweet cherry as the main ones. Some licorice too, dried bayleaves, blackcurrant wine gum, black pepper, dried orange peel, hints of beetroot juice and pomegranate, a touch of baked red bell pepper and a cooling minty finish. VA is there, but not in an aggressive way.
