  • Bottle was in the fridge for a day without the cork: brown colour, smells of raisins, almonds, smoke, vanilla and a little bit of butter, light body, sweet, but not overly so (it’s halfway between the Gonzalez Byass 1847 and the Fernando de Castilla Cream), in the mouth raisins, smoke, vanilla and butter, smooth in the mouth, not hot/spirituous, in the aftertaste smoke, almonds, raisins, butter and acidity, good length (30 sec), an ok Cream sherry, yet I don’t like the butter notes, in general I don’t think this is as good as the Gonzalez Byass 1847, which costs 1/3 less. I would not buy the Iberia again.

  • Complex and smooth. Beautiful soft raisin and nutty aromas, hints of cream and caramel. Rich and mouth-coating. Not too sweet on the palate with balancing acidity and long warm finish.

  • And what a surprise!
Too small a glass to honestly and thoroughly dive in to this wine that is quite a beauty.

...and we ended the fabulous dinner with a glass of sweet wine from the little short sweet-wine-list and decided upon their sherry:
...and what a very inspiring glass of Sherry this was for the cheese plate: with mature insignia and just the perfect balance of sweetness, acid and fruit. With an intensity that sooo many sweet wines lack. Quite outstanding and, in all honesty, quite a surprise. Had been opened for over year, so rather well aerated :-)

Not quite there yet, but very, very fine! Next visit at Yani will mean one much deeper analyzed glass of this juice. And the score may jump only upwards.

W/Kosugi sensei at the ever so fabulous restaurant Tani before going for amazing tanned drinks at The World Famous Milestone Bar in Yoyogi Uehara (Tokyo).
