  • Excellent wine, a nice example of mature Bordeaux. Pristine bottle, nice fill, spinning capsule. The cork was rubble and I decanted then used a filter when pouring. The wine was none the worse. A bit raisiny in the nose but otherwise a fine, balanced, fully mature yet vital, Pomerol. An unheralded vintage, reputedly better on the right bank. This paired beautifully with a nicely charred, very thick ribeye. Hadn't had a steak--or a 26 year old claret--in months. Most enjoyable. Purchased just five years ago at the giveaway price of $35. One more bottle left, hopefully to enjoy..

  • This was way over the hill. Fruit is completely in the background. The wine has essentially dried out. A well-stored bottle. Buy with caution.

  • Relatively good in relation to the L'Enclos but too past its highs, most of normal wines from this vintage are going soon over the hill.

  • Dark ruby with some bricking. Nice fresh scents of cherries. Palate of cherries, licorice, cinnamon, chocolate pudding, and roasted walnuts (probably from the grapes grown on the sand plots). Lightly reductive. About the same quality and style as Gazin, but a little bit simpler and lighter. Has some of the bright cherry fruitiness of Lafleur as well. A nice obscure Chateaux not in the spotlight, but worth seeking.
